The Passive Escape

{November 13, 2009}   Music

Have you ever been in a remotely similiar situation as this? For example, where you’re talking with someone you’ve just met and you get your iPod out, and so you ask them what kind of music they like. And they reply, “oh, lots. I like lots of different genres”. You give them your iPod, and they hate every single fricking song.

I honestly love all kinds of music. I’ve been getting into gothic metal (Evanescence, Within Temptation) over the past year, and I’ve also really liked stuff like Linkin Park, System of a Down etc. Nu Metal, I think the genre is?

Now, I’m starting to like British rap. There’s just something that I absolutely love about the London accent that rappers like Dizzee Rascal have. I pick up that accent really easily, I end up using it when I meet my second cousin.. I don’t really like any other rap, except for Eminem. His songs are actually entertaining y’know? You don’t have to be really into rap to enjoy them. Click more, for the music videos etc. Read the rest of this entry »

So I last posted about my new glasses, and with this post it is time to say something:

I am a Tokio Hotel fan. Not as much as I was a year ago. But I’m still a fan, I just don’t like being a fan on-line.

It all happened last year at the EMAs. There was a huge thing between Tokio Hotel fans, and Rickrollers. Then there was huge thing between TH fans and fans of The Jonas Brothers. I have come to hate the majority of both.

I think the final straw came, when Tom hit that stalker. It’s not the fat that it happened, it’s the fact that I then commented on the news that both sides were wrong. The fact is, those stalkers were out of control, but when Tom lost control and hit one of them, he gave the what the wanted and just made it worse.

But I got replies saying that I wasn’t a true fan because I wasnt standing by them through the ordeal! They’re all a bunch of immature 13-15 years olds, and I’ve met some really nice fans, but I’m not going to put myself through having to deal with mindless girls like that.

Anyway, the huge coincidence about my glasses… Read the rest of this entry »

{November 4, 2009}   Tomorrow is my last day..

Tomorrow is the last day of two things.

Unofficially, it is the last day of my work experience. Officially I continue to Friday, which brings us to the last ‘last’.

It will also be the last day of me being a single child. A state which I have rather enjoyed being. On Friday my sister returns from Colorado, and I will have a sister again. Instead of going to work experience, I’m meeting her at the airport and ‘babysitting’ her, as both parents are away.

I promised her I’d get all my homework out the way, so I don’t have it hanging over my head and we can just chill and hang out. She barely knows me any more, and I barely know her. On the Social Interview app on Facebook, she put the thing that I get most excited about as Tokio Hotel. I will probably dedicate a post to them in the future, but it must be said that I’m in a huff with them. If she was still here in England, she’d know to put Star Trek, Zachary Quinto, or Heroes! Pfff.

So I’ve still got a whole load of statistics coursework to do, my geography coursework to redo, and music to do. But I ignore music because I can’t do it, and I excercise the notion of ‘Out of sight, Out of mind’ with it.

I’ve got this song stuck in my head:

It’s so catchy! I really like their songs Hash Pipe and Pork and Beans also.

{October 31, 2009}   iTunes annoys me…

So, I know everyone moans about iTunes, and I don’t have it as bad as, eg. losing ALL my music. But it’s still aggravating.

The fact that I live in two houses because my parents split means that I have my account activated on about 4 computers now. Not needed anymore, as I have this laptop. But it means that all the tracks I’ve bought are split across these computers, and it refuses to redownload it onto this computer when I want to update. What’s up with that?

I wouldn’t use iTunes, in fact, I’d stay well away from it if I could because as far as I’m concerned, they’re renowned for beign utter jerks. But it’s the only way I can buy music online (there’s only one big music store in my town, which doesn’t have the best selection). That reason being, because I casn go into town and buya £15 iTunes voucher, then go home and spend it. If I was able to have a credit card, believe me, I’d be using another, better online store.

So perhaps I’m asking for help? At the moment I’m prepping myself for the big job of finding all my music and getting it together. But does anyone know of any other way to buy music without having to deal with iTunes?
