The Passive Escape

{November 1, 2009}   Follow up on those movies…

So the post didn’t even arrive on Saturday. Slightly aggravating, as it meant that I spent the entire morning going up and down the stairs, checking to see if it had yet arrived. It also means that it is either just running a bit late, or our mail is in the huge pile of letters that have been disrupted by the strike.

I sent these DVDs off on Sunday, so they would have been picked up first thing on Monday. Thus making it a week for them to arrive if they come tomorrow.

My sister arrives back from America this Friday, and how does this tie in with LoveFilm movies? It means that the last two DVDs I get all to myself before her list is included again are going to be seriously cheesy. Hmph.

So tonight I’m going to watch Resident Evil on my projector. Although I’m a bit wary about using it because I don’t want to lamp to conk out before my sister gets to see it!

On the topic of movies, last night I watched The Ring. I’ve decided that, that is the type of horror I like best. I got too freaked out by Drag Me To Hell, especially when the old lady is sucking on her chin. I remember watching The Blair Witch Project last Halloween and really enjoying it, apparently there’s a new movie that’s going to be released that’s in similar style. I’ll be eager to watch that!

{October 30, 2009}   The Post and LoveFilm

So it’s Friday morning, and I go downstairs for some breakfast. As I’m pouring milk over my supermarket ownbrand ‘multigrain hoops’, I do the usual, which is to scour the table for post. What am I expecting? A red bulging square that holds two DVDs, sent with love from LoveFilm. But there was nothing, zero, zilch.

I sent these DVDs off on Sunday, so they must have been picked up straight away in the morning on Monday. And must I add that this is all done by First Class post? Somethings up, and we didn’t even have the random postal strike in the middle.

There is a big pallaver going on witht he Postal Service. And I’m not entirely sure what my opinion is on it, and what the union actuaklly wanted when they did the strike.

For me, what matters at this current hour is that tonight I have nothing to watch, when I was so hoping to watch either ‘I Spy’ or ‘The Mummy 3′… Read the rest of this entry »
